Got a mass message today from someone on FaceBook. I would like to make it clear that this is someone else's words and not mine. So, you know, don't yell at me for using Cut & Paste.

"As I said during the Cap & Trade issue.....Healthcare is coming and its coming fast!!

And as I suspected.....the administration is outright lying.
Page 16 of this bill states you can keep your own private policy.....but should you lose coverage or change jobs....you cannot re-enrol.
Its the public option or nothing at all....and nothing means fines!!

Today I was with a group of people in downtown OKC.....screaming at the top of our lungs to people what is coming.
What did we get?

Shrugged shoulders, called names and ignored....ignored by the very people this will directly affect!!
I lived under socialised medicine for 20+ years.....please for the love of god believe me when I say that if this happens.....that is it!
Government will control whether you live or die...simple as that.

Think I'm exaggerating?
UK NHS 'Government Rationing Body' denies life saving medication to breast cancer patients because of cost.
Heart transplants are denied due to age.
People die waiting for critical surgery.

For the love of god America.....call your representatives.
No, don't just call.....call to make sure the offices are open and then go down there.
I don't care if you have to take off work....grab a friend, grab your family and go!!

Bang on the desks, scream at the top of your lungs...even if they are voting against it.....its beyond voting.
Every representative who is against this needs to scream at the top of their lungs....and we MUST make them do it!!

This is beyond calling, this is beyond complaining.....this is life or death people!!!

THIS CANNOT AND WILL NOT HAPPEN!!
...because if it does.....it's over!!

Please don't respond thanking me or agreeing......instead take the time to call a friend, call your family...wake them up and get them moving!!
Your private healthcare is not safe!!

If you ignore this message......you are part of the problem!
If you read it and delete it...you are part of the problem!
If you do nothing.....you are signing your own death warrant as well as the death warrant of millions of other Americans.

THIS CANNOT HAPPEN!!!"

So, I went ahead and checked on page 16 for y'all.
And it states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.
As quoted from [link] because for some reason I can't find it on GovTrack.

You can look it or any other bills that you are curious about up on GovTrack.US [link]
They have the full text available, but if you're looking for something in particular, then typing Ctrl + F should open a search within your browser that will allow you to find specific words or phrases.

Now, I don't begrudge anyone affordable healthcare. At all. I'd like to make that crystal clear. I definitely think people who need treatment should get it, and be able to afford it without the doctors trying to shake them down for all they're worth. But here's the thing, in the end it all comes down to who's right in this not-so-little argument.

So, let's say all this is entirely hypothetical.

If the people for it are right when they say everything will be fine, then great. Excellent, in fact. Carpe diem, namaste, it's all groovy. If they're right, I have absolutely no problem admitting I was wrong and moving on.

BUT.

If the people against it are right...we're going to have a huge body count when the rationing kicks in. Since the government would be causing it, it would be, at least in my personal opinion, a deliberate mass genocide.

So I am all for affordable healthcare, and highly encourage doctors to stop chiseling their patients--but I am pretty firmly against the government micromanaging it. The government is, uh, incompetent--to put it mildly. They overcomplicate things and overspend. I don't want them near my health, my dog, or even my freakin' lawn.
And that is my little rant for today. Not too much screaming, please--I have an ungodly amount of messages to get through already.

Also, yesterday I had an argument with my mother about whether or not you can open a .pdf file with Wordpad.

And State Of Fear is one of the most interesting books I've read this year. I also read Fahrenheit 451. I highly recommend them both.

STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME:
:bulletred: I'm a Conservative. Classical Conservative, too--which means I side with the Founding Fathers. No, I do not like Obama--in fact, I think he is not only nuts, but trying to abolish all freedom in America. I'm sure that now you will either agree with me, or freak out and proceed to show how very accepting of opinion differences you are by screaming at me over the internet that I should go die in horrible ways, some probably involving rape, knives, or other things befitting a "pacifist" ideal. Wow. Mature. Liberals, pardon me if I sound bitter, but if I hadn't already run into so many of you that enjoy giving death threats, I would not try to avoid your company nearly so much.
:bulletred: I stand by my beliefs--I believe in God/dess, I believe in good people, and I believe that the human spirit can triumph over damned near anything. I don't know about evolution--but then I don't know about the Adam and Eve thing either, so stop hyperventilating.
:bulletred: I am sarcastic about the unimportant things (that other people think the world revolves around), honest about the important things, and if I don't have at least three books that I have never read handy, I feel sad.
:bulletred: I've been dressing Gothic(ish some days, full on others) since I was 12 or so--and I keep being annoyed that now I'm in my 20s, and 14 year olds still want to tell me that I'm "soooooo not Goth" because I laugh, or smile, or, you know, breathe the 'wrong' way. I figure after almost 10 years I can dress Goth as classy, punky, or vintage depending on my mood or needs, and I don't need little kids telling me I know nothing about my own subculture because I am not coated with eyeliner every single day. Siouxie & the Banshees, Charlotte Bronte, Type O Negative, Bella Morte, Within Temptation. That is all.
:bulletred: I like animals. Mine are bitchy little things, but I love 'em to death. I do not want to hear crap about hurting animals. If I see you hurting an animal...god help you.
That being said, I support hunting (one shot, one kill, use everything, not this draw-it-out-and-make-it-suffer-shit). Oddly enough, hunters often donate generously to wildlife and land conservation funds, according to the stuff I have read on it. So, you know, kindly stop acting like they're lunatics.
Also, the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting. It's about protecting my family. I hold the view that if someone breaks into my home with the intent to hurt me or my family, I do not care what sob-story Jerry Springer crap "drove" them to attempt harming other people. They're going down and staying down, period.
:bulletred: I love mystery stuff, noir movies, horror movies, and making stuff while watching them (as in drawing or beading).
:bulletred: My family is crazy. I think they could go for at least Silver in the Christopher Titus Family Olympics. And I love them for it, because most of them (there's at least one exception) are some of the wisest, most dependable, incredibly loving people I will ever know.
:bulletred: I'm an ExMormon--I'm no longer bitter about the religion, but I accept that there are some things in it that would never induce me to go back. I'm OK with that. People either don't know what I'm talking about, don't mind, or they freak out and start bearing their testimony to me (because that's like the end-all response for some people). Here's the thing; if the active Mormons can't accept that I am finally a happy and balanced person and they, out of the goodness of their hearts, would like me to be otherwise...
:bulletred: I disliked Twilight. A lot. And I read all 4 books, not because I wanted to, but because I didn't want to hear that same old stupid argument, "omfg if u just read them u wud lov them!!!!11!!!"
:bulletred: I am Southern. So if you call me a redneck, I'm going to take it as a compliment, because I would love to be thought of as someone who works hard for every penny they have, puts their hand on their heart and says the Pledge for the American flag, loves their family, uses a gun to protect that family, and is unafraid to stand up for their rights, their country, and their self-respect. Now, if you mean it as someone who loves country music, is toothless, and failed high school...well, you're out of luck, because the only thing that fits me is that I like country music. Deal with it.
:bulletred: I could tell you all about myself, but that would go on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on on and on and you would get so bored.
So that's all!

You know that thing I thought had been removed? I found it. I obviously wasn't looking hard enough. I've removed it now, though.
